DMA APPOINTED AS CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS FOR A MAJOR NEW DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH DUBLIN
We are delighted to announce that DMA has been appointed as the Civil and Structural Engineers for an exciting new development project to be submitted for planning. This project features a state-of-the-art 120-bed nursing home and 29 independent living units.
Surface Water Management
One of the critical engineering aspects of this development is the careful consideration of surface water management. The site, which is bordered by the Loughlinstown River to the north, presented unique challenges in ensuring that surface water is effectively managed and discharged without impacting the natural watercourse, especially during river flood events.
DMA has delivered comprehensive surface water management designs, incorporating Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). Our designs include a range of features that not only manage and treat surface water but also improve the quality of water discharging into the nearby stream. These innovations are vital in maintaining the environmental integrity of the surrounding area and ensuring the sustainability of the development.
Structural Designs
In addition to water management, DMA has also provided structural designs for a clear span bridge structure. This bridge is essential for providing both vehicular and pedestrian access to the development. Our design carefully considers the maximum flood water levels, ensuring that the bridge does not impede watercourse flows during flood events.
